Sound City launch Rip It Up project to support young Black, Asian and diverse artists in North West

News: 20th January 2021 by Stef Loukes under Music Training & Careers, Recording & Production

Launched by Liverpool Sound City and supported by Youth Music's Incubator Fund, Rip It Up is an exciting bespoke bursary programme set up to support 10 Black, Asian and diverse artists and aspiring industry professionals in the North West aged 18-25 who are trying to make an impact on the music industry.

Over 6 months, the selected young creatives on the Rip It Up programme will immerse themselves in informative sessions including social media, getting gigs, recording and production, publishing, radio and press, strategy and campaign management, funding and how to build an effective team. They'll also receive extensive support in the form of training and mentoring.

That's not all! Aspiring industry folks will be able to carry out a paid placement within a creative business to kickstart their experience. And aspiring artists will receive funding to go into the studio to record a single and promote the release.

Applications are now open and close on 15th February 2021. Full details & link to apply are below...
