Apple seal the deal on iCloud

News: 3rd June 2011 by Louise Dodgson under Music Publishing, Record Labels, Selling & Distributing Your Music

After sealing the deal with Universal this week, Apple now have all 4 major labels on board for their music cloud service said to be launched imminently, iCloud. Unlike Amazon and Google who side-stepped discussing licensing with the labels before launching their services, Apple has made sure the record companies are fully behind their music cloud, although they are yet to strike deals with the music publishers.

Apparently, due to be unveiled next Monday there is clearly still a lot of work to be done behind the scenes at Apple and we're interested to see what they have in store. Although, the word on the grapevine is that iCloud will only allow music purchased from iTunes to be stored at present, but let's hope they have plans to expand this further down the line.
