Strictly unconventional

Blog by Molly Jones under Music Training & Careers

The meeting of musical minds Un-Convention returns to its roots in Salford once again this October.

Un-Convention, for the uninitiated, is a global grassroots music event and community that meets to share ideas, discuss cutting edge issues around music, technology and creativity and spark debate amongst the members of the music community. The yearly meet up event is a great opportunity for upcoming bands to do a bit of networking, find out the latest goings on in the industry and pick up some tips from their peers.

This year’s event is set to be the best Un-Convention yet. There’s a wide range of great UK artists playing as usual from Billy Bragg and Roisin Murphy to British Sea Power and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly., as well as global artists that the U-C team have discovered on their travels all over the world. And we’re promised a gig on a barge, which is always fun.

Un-Convention takes place Friday 1 October; passes are available from the website now for £24.
